The hand-painted detailing on this 27 cm piece is so crisp and lifelike, you can almost see the feathers shimmering. It arrived well-packaged and now takes pride of place on my shelf, a true conversation starter for anyone who visits.

I collect porcelain birds and this one stands out immediately in the room, the 27 cm height gives it real presence on the shelf. The way the feathers are modelled with that subtle texture makes it feel alive, exactly the kind of craftsmanship you'd expect from work rooted in the 1730s tradition.

The way the green and yellow glazes blend on the feathers is even more delicate in person than in the photos. It sits perfectly on my shelf, a lovely nod to 18th-century craftsmanship.
