In Antemanns Maskenball-Figur ruht sich ein Paar am Rande eines Ballsaals auf einer für die Epoche typischen Chaiselongue aus. Die Dame der Designer-Skulptur legt in einem Moment der Überraschung ihre Maske ab, als der Herr sich in ungenierter Art vorbeugt, um sie zu umarmen. Anspielungen auf bekannte Chinoiserie-Kunstwerke, kombiniert mit klassischen Meissener Blütenmotiven, bieten eine vielschichtige visuelle Andeutung der emotionalen Spannung der Figur dieser Kunstwerke in Antemanns typischer Art.
