Nereide, H 34 cm

The little Triton children are so finely sculpted that you can almost see them splashing through the waves, and the porcelain glaze has a delicate, creamy finish. It’s even more charming in person than in the photos.

The porcelain has a soft, almost luminous sheen that makes the Nereide’s emergence from the waves feel truly alive. I was surprised by how delicate the triton children’s fins are—every tiny detail from 1738 is preserved beautifully.

The way the little triton children curl around her base feels so alive, like they’re actually riding the wave with her. I’ve had it on my shelf for a week and keep catching myself staring at the 1738 detailing from Eberlein’s design.
