Der französische Bildhauer modellierte die Gärtner-Skulptur 1777 nach Vorlagen des sächsischen Malers Johann Eleazar Zeissig. Handbemalt, mit farbenfroher Kleidung, Hut und liebreizender Blumengirlande spaziert der Knabe durch die Natur. Die filigrane Raffinesse zeugt von unvergleichlichem Kunsthandwerk.
