Wie damals üblich, dienten u.a. Kupferstiche von Jean-Antoine Watteau, Jacques Callot sowie Einflüsse des aufkommenden Klassizismus als seine Vorlagen.

The gold accents on this figurine really bring out the festive feel of a courtly masquerade ball. I was impressed by how much detail is packed into the small porcelain, especially the intricate staff work on the costume. It sits beautifully in my cabinet and sparks conversation every time someone se

I was really impressed by how the gold accents catch the light—it feels like a tiny piece of a court celebration brought home. The mask and staff are painted with such fine detail that I keep noticing new little flourishes each time I look at it.

The figure’s pose captures that theatrical rococo spirit perfectly, and the hand-painted details on the costume are exquisite. I just wish the base was a bit more substantial for the price, but it’s still a lovely centerpiece.
