Die Figur "Giraffe" aus dem ikonischen Weiß des Meissener Porzellans wurde erstmals von Heinrich Drake im Jahr 1955 ausgeformt. Die Fertigung der Skulptur stellt aufgrund ihrer hochgewachsenen, schlanken Statur herausforderungsvolle Ansprüche an das Kunsthandwerk. Zudem berühren die Hufe des in Bewegung festgehaltenen Tieres kaum den Sockel der Skulptur. Damit die Figur nicht kippt, erfordert es Stützen beim Brand sowie viel Erfahrung, Liebe und Hingabe zum Kunsthandwerk. Nach Brand und Glasur erstrahlt sie eindrucksvoll im fantastischen Weiß des hochwertigen Materials.
