レインボー玉ねぎ柄は、マイセンを代表する装飾のひとつに色彩豊かな新解釈をもたらし、オリジナルの豪華さに現代的な軽やかさを対置します。古典的な要素はそのままの形で取り上げられ、現代的なオブジェに新しい色彩で配置されています。これは自らの伝統への革新的なオマージュであり、単色の装飾はマニュファクチュア独自のコバルトブルーの発展と切り離せないものでした。当時は主に青で描かれていた東アジアの磁器に触発されて生まれたオリジナルの1731は、桃とメロン、竹の棒、そして菊の繊細な花を描いていました。エレガントに簡略化されたバリエーションでは、つる、花、葉がシンプルな形のヴィドポッシュに施されています。
