Bacchus auf Fass, H 45 cm

The base it sits on, dated from 1741/42, gives the whole piece that authentic antique feel I was hoping for. At 45 cm tall it makes a real statement on the sideboard, and the god's pose on the wine cask is far more playful in person than in the photos.

The detail in the wine god's face is incredible, especially the slightly mischievous expression. It adds a real sense of history and craftsmanship to my dining room.
